The Original Egg Game

The Original Egg Game

Kids playing the Egg Game Rated one of the best toys of 1999 by Family Life Magazine, The Original Egg Game will take your communication skills to new levels, in a way that is both absorbing and fun. Simple in appearance, this game is a winner at developing skill, coordination and above all, cooperation.

High School Kids playing the Original Egg Game Age Levels: Child to adult. The Original Egg Game is suitable for kids as young as 5 if playing with an older child or adult. 7-8 is about right for solo play.

Prices range from $18.18 for the Travel Model, to $45.45 for the Family Model game.

Cooperative Board Games

Harvest Time, Ages 3 to 7.

Harvest Time (Ages 3 to 7) The initial impulse to play a game is social. How ironic then that in most games we spend all our efforts trying to bankrupt someone, destroy their armies, in other words, to get rid of one another! In a world where the ability to cooperate is so important, it makes sense to give our kids (and ourselves) access to games that foster the spirit of cooperation rather than undermining it. In a cooperative game, someone young and little can play with others older and bigger and not worry about being wiped out. We are all there at the end of it.

Mountaineering & Sky Travelers, Ages 7 to 12.

Mountaineering (7 to 12) and Sky Travelers (8 to Adult) In these games, players help each other climb a mountain, solve a mystery, make a community, bring in the harvest, complete a space exploration- They are never against each other. Yet, the games are realistic- kids are not protected from failing to make it to the summit or completing the space voyage.

New America, Ages: Teen to Adult.

New America (Teen to Adult)

These games are the inventions of Jim Deacove. Sharing toys, helping mom and dad, being kind to others are values taught in all homes. To find games which help to reinforce such sharing attitudes, however, is very difficult. Thus, Jim and Ruth felt they had to create some. Jim first made a few co-op games for his own family and was encouraged by friends to make more. The "hobby" became a small business in their home 25 years ago.

Age Levels: 3 to 7, 5 to 9, 7 to 12, 9 to Adult.

Prices range from $20.00 for the 3 to 7 age level, to $32.00 for the most expensive Adult Level game.
